The Evergreen Lake House gives access to the Alderfer trails, without having to drive as far. Dedisse is a forested single-track. The trails of Alderfer have a wide variety of trails
Weather and Seasons
The Alderfer trails can be run year round. However, in the winter, the Dedisse trail can be icy, so going up and back around the golf course is often better.
Driving Directions
The Lake House is on the W side of Evergreen Lake, 1/4mi up Upper Bear Creek from hwy 74. http://goo.gl/maps/QiwUo
Running routes: On Thursday evenings, we head out the entrance to the Lake House and left on Upper Bear Creek Rd. Stay to the far left, in single file, and watch for oncoming traffic. A little past the golf course club house, look for a trail on the left. Head down the trail, across the bridge, and straight onto the Dedisse trail, up into the forest. Continue up to the Alderfer trails, with various routes for different speeds.
To finish, a short way past the lower lot, head down the Wilmot trail for ~1/2mi. At the second street, go left up S Greenwood. At the end turn rt onto Fairway Dr, then the next lt onto the dirt road Golf Way alongside the golf course. At the bottom of the dirt road, go left onto the dirt service road. Follow the road around the golf course, lt at the lake, back to the lake house.
On Thursday nights, DTR has different routes at each run. The different routes are designed so that we can accommodate runners of different speeds and still start/finish at about the same time. See more info on choosing the appropriate route for you.
